Dr. Ying Zhang is the Founder and President of the Spotlight Arts and Culture Foundation, she is also a Kawai Medallion Educator, and a highly sought-after piano teacher currently based in Houston, TX. She operates a top tier private piano school, where hundreds of students come to receive professional training through her successful, individualized program. As an Asian-American woman who spent earlier part of her life in China, later having received full scholarships to further her piano studies in some of the most prestigious music institutions in the U.S., Zhang is passionate to give back by providing guidance and creating meaningful opportunities to music and art students around the world. Prior to immersing herself in music education and managing the school and the foundation, Zhang performed as a soloist throughout U.S.. She has been on the stages of the Music Academy of the West in Santa Barbara, Summer Piano Festival in Suny New Paltz, Kodak Theatre in LA, Las Vegas International Summer Music Festival, etc… Zhang holds Doctor of Musical Arts degree from Rice University, Master of Music degree from Indiana University – Bloomington, and Bachelor of Music degree from Oberlin Conservatory.
